400 years (1617- 2017)

In 2017, AIC will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the first Confraternity of Charity by Saint Vincent de Paul in Châtillon, France. This very first group has grown into today’s AIC, an international network for fighting against poverty, which now has over 150,000 volunteers in 53 countries.

AIC will celebrate its Jubilee Year from 8th December 2016 to 10th December 2017.

Throughout the Jubilee Year, a number of events will be held, at both international and national level and in the local volunteer groups.

The 400th anniversary is a great opportunity to organise pilgrimages in France to the most important Vincentian places. Take a look at the practical guides we have produced to help you arrange them.
From 12th to 15th March 2017 we will hold our International Assembly in Châtillon, France, which will be attended by 400 members from the 53 countries around the world where we are present.
