Solidarity

By Patricia P. de Nava

Solidarity is to know oneself, as a human being, link to all others and feel responsible for others, the same way one feels responsible for oneself.
This definition of solidarity was chosen almost unanimously by volunteers present at the Assembly of Delegates, in Assisi, Italy, in 1990. That occasion, solidarity was adopted as one of the AIC´s Guide Lines.
This document pretends to be also a support so the volunteers of the world have more elements to turn solidarity into the central axe of the different actions of struggle against poverty.
