What we do

AIC – International Association of Charities – is a network of 100,000 local volunteers, mainly women, who work in their local communities to combat poverty in 56 countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the United States.

AIC has an international structure so that our work can achieve a greater impact. Decentralized regional leadership also enables us to carry out different kinds of work, specific to each region of the world.

All AIC volunteers receive continuous technical, spiritual and humanitarian training, so that they can accompany the most disadvantaged people.

AIC groups from different countries establish special partnerships in a culture of solidarity.

As a civil society organization, AIC belongs to global networks.  Through our representatives, we make sure that the voices of disadvantaged people are heard at an international level and included in relevant international discussions.

What you can do

Whether it is as an one-off or regular donation (with your credit or debit card) or a legacy, your financial support can help us to make a real, long-lasting difference to the lives of people living in situations of poverty.  You can choose to support the cause closest to your heart:

  • Our grassroots work with people living in poverty
  • Training our volunteers to improve the way they work with those they support
  • The work of our associations in countries facing crisis situations

At AIC, we are convinced that everyone has strengths they can offer. Why not join our 100,000 inspiring volunteers from across the globe?  Together we can make significant changes to build a better world.

There are many ways to lend a hand.  You can join one of our local associations in your own country and work directly with beneficiaries, or you can support our International Secretariat in Belgium in various ways: with translations, communication and publicity, fundraising or administrative support.
